The End of August treats at Capital Club 16 and Respite Cafe

This last week of August you can find tasty treats at Capital Club 16 and Respite Cafe.

On Tuesday, Capital Club 16 will have a almond cheesecake with an almond crust and Asian pears poached in Gruner, honey, and cardamom.

On Wednesday at Respite Cafe you’ll be able to find a lemon yellow cake with basil ganache,

On Thursday, Capital Club 16 will have a crepe cake, crepes layered with ganache, raspberry compote, and almonds. We will also be making a tasty cake for the Ska Brewing beer dinner at CC16, part of Raleigh Beer Week.

Pie Munster!

Crumb is taking part in SPECTRE Arts’ Pie Munster this Sunday August 25!

From SPECTRE Arts:

SPECTRE Arts is starting the Pie Munster program to support the creation of public works of art in Durham.

Generous supporters from restaurants in town will donate pies for a picnic-style pie social at SPECTRE Arts.

A limited number of tickets will be available for the public to purchase. With the purchase of entry, guests will enjoy a selection of savory and sweet pies in the green space at SPECTRE Arts. Beer, wine, and lemonade will also be available for no additional charge.

All proceeds from the event will be used to fund artists interested in creating public works of art in collaboration with participating property owners in town.

The first Pie Munster event will be held on Sunday, August 25, 2013, at 4pm. Tickets are available for purchase only online prior to the event for $20 per person.

This week:

On Tuesday you can find a goat cheese cheesecake with balsamic figs and a pistachio crust at Capital Club 16.

On Wednesday you can find a buttermilk poundcake with a blueberry lemon buttercream at Respite Cafe.

On Thursday there will be a special cake at Capital Club 16: layers of chocolate torte, peanut butter mousse, and pretzel crusts.

Of course you can always order something for yourself.

Come join us for a seafood Sunday Supper on the sidewalk! Menu featuring fish by the incredible Locals Seafood, dessert by Crumb(yum!) and a special Slingshot Cascara Tea cocktail(if you haven’t tried their new tea yet, do..it’s awesome!). This week at Respite in Durham you can find a yellow cake with an Asian pear and goat cheese buttercream. On Thursday you’ll be able to find a similar cake here in Raleigh at Capital Club 16.

Also on Wednesday at Capital Club 16 there will be a cheesecake with peach brandy and almond/pecan crust.

On Wednesday you can find a lemon creamsicle cake with candied lemon buttercream and fresh NC blueberries at Respite Cafe. On Wednesday evening you’ll be able to find a similar cake at Capital Club 16.

This week’s cake is a chocolate cake (made with Carrboro Coffee’s Buena Fe) wrapped in ganache with a layer of cheese cake inside. In Durham you can find this cake at Respite Cafe and in Raleigh you can find it at Capital Club 16.
