We’re taking the next step towards a more permanent location in downtown Raleigh. We are launching an IndieGoGo campaign with two main goals: 1. raise enough money to buy new equipment and repair old equipment so we can expand our operations and keep up with the demand the summer’s farmer’s markets will bring, and 2. to provide banks and investors with a very clear idea of our base of support within our community.  Our goal is to raise $10,000, anything raised beyond that will go towards establishing a permanent base of operations.

In addition to the perks we will be offering, we are very pleased to be offering perks from many of our friends in the community: Raleigh Denim, Piedmont, Zely & Ritz, Market, 3lobed, Hometapes, Bottega, Hillsborough Cheese Co, The Raleigh Wine Shop, Escazu, Mother Earth, This and That Jam, Taste Carolina, Bull City Records, Shaun Richards, Grayson Currin, Jonathan & Jenny Bonchak, Jon Mueller, Hallock Hill, and Rafiq Bhatia. As perks are redeemed, more perks will be added, but don’t wait too long! any of the perks are available in limited quantities.

Voting has opened in the Independent’s Best of the Triangle 2012! You can vote for us in any category you’d like (it would really make our day to win best strip club) but we’d suggest voting for us in these categories: bakery, birthday cake, pie, bagel, desserts, pasta (you know we make pasta right?). You have to answer at least 20 of the 259 questions in order for your vote to count. Voting ends April 15. Vote early and vote often (or at least from every email account you have).

It pains me to say this, but due to unforeseen events, we are going to have to cancel this Sunday’s vegan brunch at the Pinhook. If there was any way we could avoid doing this, we would, but at this point it is out of our hands. I truly apologize to all of our loyal supporters for any inconvenience this causes. A few of our highlight’s of the year (in no particular order):

• Farm to Fork – We’ve been excited about next year’s since this year’s ended. Go ahead and sign up for their emails. You are going to want to buy tickets for 2012′s Farm to Fork as soon as they are available.
• Blount St. Block Party with Hometapes for Hopscotch.
• The opening of the Contemporary Art Museum.
• Sponsoring the New Music Raleigh and Shara Worden performance of Sarah Kirkland Snider’s Penelope at Kings.
• Learning to make bagels and bialys (yes they are that good for those of you who haven’t tried them yet).
• Strengthening our relationships with Escazu (the very best chocolate made in Raleigh, probably the best on the eastern seaboard), Fiction Kitchen (need more vegan bbq, now!), Zely & Ritz,Market (yuzu!) and the rest of the Triangle’s excellent food scene.
• Meeting so many great farmers, brewers, cheese makers, jammers (is that a word?), and so many other interesting people.
• Slinging baked goods at fun events like the Saturday Market at Rebus Works, the Cooke St. Carnival (the best block party in Raleigh), the vegan brunches at the Pinhook, and all the other events we attended this year.

We’re pleased to be taking part in the Buy Local Bazaar at King’s Barcade on December 22. We’ll have lots of treats for you to buy. Our friends from This and That Jam, the Fiction Kitchen, and many other artists will also be there. A great chance to buy gifts for your friends and family while supporting local businesses.
